What we collect when you use this site, why, and what rights you have over it. Written in plain English, same as everything else here.

1. Who we are
Traction Marketing is a remote digital marketing agency working with small and micro businesses across the UK. This policy covers tractionmarketing.co.uk and explains how we handle personal information submitted through it.
Traction Marketing is the data controller for the information described below.
2. What information we collect
We only collect what you give us directly. There is no account system, no checkout and no visitor tracking beyond what is described in the cookies section below.
When you use the booking form or the build your own quote tool, we collect:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your email address
- Whatever you choose to tell us in the free text notes field, including which services you have selected on the pricing page
If you email us directly at hello@tractionmarketing.co.uk, we hold whatever you send us and our reply, the same as any normal email conversation.
3. Why we collect it
Solely to respond to your enquiry: to understand what you are asking about, get back to you, and, if you go on to become a client, to deliver the work. We do not use this information for anything else, and we do not add you to a marketing list unless you separately ask us to.
4. Our legal basis for processing it
Under UK GDPR, our legal basis is legitimate interest: responding to a direct enquiry you have chosen to send us is a reasonable and expected use of that information, and we process no more than is needed to do that. Where we go on to work together, the basis shifts to performance of a contract.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into client work are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Information relating to active or former clients is kept for as long as needed to deliver the work and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, typically up to 7 years after the relationship ends, in line with standard UK record keeping requirements.
7. International transfers
Automattic, which provides the Jetpack Form used on this site, and Google, which provides Google Analytics where you have accepted it, are both US based companies. Where your information is processed on servers outside the UK as a result, we rely on each provider’s own compliance mechanisms, including standard contractual clauses, to keep that transfer lawful. [Confirm this against each provider’s current data processing terms before publishing, since providers update these arrangements from time to time.]
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information, where there is no good reason for us to keep it
- Object to how we are using it
- Ask us to restrict our use of it while a concern is being looked into
To use any of these rights, email hello@tractionmarketing.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
10. Children’s data
This site and the services it describes are aimed at business owners, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For anything significant, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing the small print.
12. How to contact us
Questions about this policy, or about your information specifically, go to hello@tractionmarketing.co.uk.
